About YoLarates™ & Lara
Lara Foldvari has been dancing for almost 50 years! She began her training in classical ballet at The
Boston Ballet, followed by The New Haven Ballet (nee The Connecticut Ballet).
Lara is an internationally certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through ACE, the American Council on Exercise; and is a Master Barre Instructor with IBBFA, the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association.
She is a
licensed and certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher,
is trained in the Vaganova Method Syllabus of ballet, and Ballerobica®. Lara has completed her Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training Certification through YogaRenew, and her Pilates Mat certification through AFPA. She is also Barre Guild Academy certified in the original Lotte Berk barre.
Lara is also a Certified Holistic Nutritionist through AFPA, the American Fitness Professionals & Associates, with additional nutrition/cooking education and training from NESTA (National Academy of Sports Medicine), the Spencer Institute, the Rouxbe Online Cooking School, and the T.Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at eCornell.
Lara holds multiple other certifications/certificates and licenses with AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association), NESTA, ASFA (American Senior Fitness Association), AromaHut Institute (aromatherapy certification), The Herbal Academy, Silver Sneakers®, and formerly with AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America) and Zumba®.
She is also certified by the American Heart Association in First Aid & CPR/AED, and is insured.
YoLarates™ is Cheshire, CT's first barre class, designed by Master Barre Instructor, Lara Foldvari, in 2009. It is also approved by ACE and IBBFA as a Continuing Education Provider.
YoLarates™ is a blend of yoga, Pilates and ballet barre movements. The class starts with a warm-up of basic poses from yoga and ballet, followed by sun and moon salutations. After upper body work with light weights, we then move to the ballet barre portion of class, using a small squishy ball. The class continues onto the floor for a little more leg & glutes work before concentrating on Pilates abs exercises. A cool-down and stretch complete the class.
YoLarates™ will strengthen and tone your entire body, especially your core, buttocks, arms, and legs. You will also become more flexible, and more balanced, both physically and mentally.
All levels are welcome and encouraged to join us! Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. YoLarates™ can be done in sticky socks or bare feet. Dress comfortably (think yoga/workout wear).
Drop-ins are welcome. $15.00/class or purchase class cards for a discount. (First class is $10.00)
